The warm up before exercise
Eamonn Dolan presents a comprehensive warm up with members of the Reading FC Academy. Eamonn explains the purpose of the warm up to prepare the body for exercise. The drill begins with a gentle jog, incorporates stretching all the major muscle groups, and works up to agility drills and finally ball skills to warm up the mind as well as the body.
Although this warm up is based on football skills, warm ups are vital to all sports and exercise. Gives an understanding of why warm up is important - what are the implications of not warming up prior to physical activity?
