Key Info
  • The Sonoran Desert - under threat
  • Duration: 05:04
  • The Sonoran Desert in the South West of the USA has been inhabited for many years. Huge farms have been developed and cities exist here, such as Phoenix. Water is sourced from the few rivers and wells have been dug down into the water table. As the cities have grown, the water table has dropped and more water is needed. The Central Arizona Project transports water from the Colorado River to the Sonoran via canals.
