Ideas for use in class
  • The teacher should read out the dialogue written on the screen during the sketch as though actually talking with Rodd. Keep an eye on the screen cues. This sketch is a fun quiz which will help make telling the time more fun. It can be used as an introduction to telling the time or as a recap. Afterwards children can make up their own quiz questions for each other. At the start of the sketch the teacher is cued to tell Rodd that guessing which hand has a coin in it is the fairest way to decide who goes first. Prepare for this first cue by having a coin in your right hand (without the children seeing which hand the coin is in). During the quiz the children can join in by counting the boings and shouting out the answers to Rodd's questions. Stop the sketch if the children need extra time to work out the answers. At the end of the sketch, wave 'bye bye' to Rodd.
