Separating mixtures - filtration and distillation
Demonstrates how to separate sand and salt from water by filtration and distillation. The terms 'soluble' and 'insoluble' are explained and it is demonstrated that if a mixture of salt, sand and water is filtered, a salt solution is left behind. This salt solution is then evaporated to dryness. Another salt solution is distilled to collect the water.
