  • The presenter joins Alex on her ship and they discuss the issue of rust on a submarine that sank in 1880. The presenter explains rusting or corrosion, an oxidation reaction, takes place when iron comes into contact with oxygen and water. There are many examples of rusting on the ship as well as on the submarine. At the end of the clip, Alex smashes a large piece of corrosion off, what looks like a lump of rock, to reveal an iron cannon ball inside.
