Refugee camps in Spanish-speaking Sahara
The history of the Spanish-speaking refugees living in refugee camps in western Algiers. In 1975 Morocco occupied land to the south of their borders and forced over 170,000 people to flee and live in refugee camps in western Algiers. These refugees are Spanish speakers because the country was a Spanish colony for many years before the occupation.
