How do you bring a divided community together?
A montage of flags, murals, songs and parades representing diversity within the community sets the scene for the presenters to find out about the work of the Community Relations Council. Anna Lo MLA arrived in Northern Ireland in 1974, and gives her perspective on Northern Ireland's conflict. Ms Lo explains why she believes education, housing and health services all need to be integrated and not duplicated to serve different parts of the community.
Discuss the ways we use to identify ourselves with a variety of groups and organisations. What formal or informal groups can be identified within your school? How can people with different opinions and outlooks be encouraged to work together without losing their sense of identity?
