Devine qui c’est - guess who!
A quiz introducing famous French personalities. Our host selects five famous French figures from history and from the present. He invites us to name the individuals from a series of clues. Once the identity is revealed, he furnishes us with further information.
A class could work in pairs, trying to guess the identity, swapping answers with another pair before each answer is revealed. If the answers are too difficult, either the initial letters of their name may be revealed, or a list of ten famous French people could be given out first for the class to choose from.
On a second viewing, a class could be invited to find out as many facts about each of the figures as possible.
A transcript of the description of Zinedine Zidane could be distributed with gaps for the class to fill in.
A group could listen out for key structures such as: c'est un écriveur français; il est né en...; il a écrit...; voilá; c'est...; il était petit; il porte numéro 10; il a gagné. Students could then assemble a 'guess who?' of their own after further research.
