Key Info

  • Title: Designing a housing estate
  • Duration: 03:25
  • Description: The North Corner area of Devonport, Plymouth was once run down and had a reputation for crime and anti-social behaviour. It was a problem that needed a drastic solution. The answer was to tear it down and start again. Rebuilt and now rebranded as Gun Wharf, it's seen by many as a model estate. When it came to rebuilding the most important thing was to listen to the people who were going to live there. The developers listened to their ideas and planned the estate in line with their requests. Long-term residents talk about the impact of the new estate of their daily lives.
