Kira lives in Tres Cantos, Madrid. We meet her group of friends, two of whom are Spanish and two bi-lingual in English and Spanish. Students describe their homes and who they live with. In Kira's own home, she shows us several rooms and the furniture in her bedroom and in the kitchen. A lightning tour of Tres Cantos offers snapshots of key places in a Spanish town.
Vox pop interviews and subsequent introduction to Kira's home could be models for pupils to construct their own descriptions of where they live. A class could listen out for key words and phrases from a list distributed prior to the first viewing, ticking them off as they occur.
Pronunciation of these words, followed by the class working out their meaning, could form the basis of their own account of where they live. There is a good opportunity here to include opinions and practise the constructions 'a mí me gusta/n' 'a ella le gusta/n'.
The final product might be a presentation to another member of the class, either with photos or simply as an account.
