Key Info
  • Counting and adding coins
  • Duration: 00:36
  • An introduction to counting and adding money. Several coin values are shown before they morph into different combinations of coins which make up the same value. For example, we see how ten 1p coins make up a 10p coin; and two 2ps, a 1p and a 5p make another 10p. This enables the children to recognise the value of each coin and understand how one coin represents a certain value.

    Money: Coins

  • Keywords: counting, addition, adding, coins, money, pennies
Ideas for use in class
  • The teacher could give the coin values to the children and stop the video before each 'morph' to allow the children to work out the values. The clip can then be played to give the correct answer.
