Broadband download speeds
More than two-thirds of Britain has a broadband connection but many are not getting the download speeds they pay for, especially during peak times. A comparison of the major broadband providers found Virgin's cable service offered the highest speeds and Tiscali's the slowest. The research also suggests a digital divide is becoming prominent as new technology is introduced in towns and cities leaving the countryside struggling with slower speeds due to lack of fibre optic cabling.
