Ideas for use in class
  • After showing the clip consider the following activity. Divide the class into two with a student representing a young person living in the countryside. Each side of the classroom represents either the countryside or the city. They take turns to call out pull factors to encourage the volunteer to move to their side of the classroom. When they run out of ideas the volunteer either stays in the countryside or moves to the city depending on which side was more persuasive. They share the reasons for their move with the class, leading to discussion of push and pull factors.
