  • Duration: 04:36
  • Author and presenter Kathy Lette and Rabbi YY Rubenstein introduce the Ten Commandments and focus specifically on 'Do not kill', 'Worship no other gods' and 'Do not take God's name in vain'. This is a humourous piece but the intention is to provoke reflection on some of the profound issues the Commandments raise.
  • Subject:

    Religious Education

       Topic:

    Beliefs: Multifaith and Non-religious

Ideas for use in class
  • Ask students, working in groups, to identify as many moral questions as they can that present a 'grey area' e.g. is it ever right to fight to kill? What reasons would they give? How do they think people believing in one of the religions they are studying might respond to the same question? Show students the clip, and ask them to suggest what people who are not Jews or Christians can take from the Commandments (if anything).
