What happens when we die?
This clip provides 12 perspectives from Christianity, Buddhism and Islam, as well as atheism and agnosticism, on the question of what happens to us when we die. Each statement is short and considered, and, taken together, show diversity within and between the religions and perspectives presented.
The stimulus material on this clip enables students to evaluate the ways in which some believers from a number of traditions express their understanding of religious issues about life and death. Provide students with a brief quote (max 30 words) from each of the 12 people featured in the clip, and for each one ask them to: a) identify what they think (agree, disagree, like or dislike) - and why; b) analyse the comments by pairing them up - which might be said to go with which?; c) Write 100 words to summarise the range of ideas in the clip.
