Description: A wall is built using fractions that belong in the same 'family'. The wall is built so that a half, quarter and eights are one family, thirds and sixth are another and fifths and tenths make up the third family. The second part of the clip shows how to build the wall using the biggest fraction at the bottom and the smallest at the top.
Before the wall is built the teacher could pause the clip and ask the children if they can work out which fractions belong in the same families. The clip could be used as an introduction to equivalent fractions.
