  • Duration: 06:58
  • Reya El-Salahi continues her quest to understand what life is like for Israeli teens. Reya investigates life in the Israeli Army and spends the day with Keren, a London born Jewish girl who volunteered to spend two years in the Israeli army. Keren tries to explain why she left London to join the army, and the importance of her role in relation to her faith. Reya tries to identify why teenagers are happy to join the army, and how she would feel about it. This is the personal journey of presenter Reya El Salahi and also features contributors with extreme religious & political views. It deals with conflict in Israel & the Middle East from both the Jewish Israeli & Palestinian Arab sides. Issues of race, religion & contentious politics are explored. In order to explore balance across the differing political points of view, this should be used in conjunction with 13110, 13111, 13113, 13114, 13115 and 13116. First broadcast on BBC3 in November 2011 as part of the programme Mixed up in the Middle East.
