Preparation for dance and choreography
Dancer and choreographer Drew McOnie provides an illustrated explanation of an effective dance warm up. He highlights the importance of an aerobic starter activity which focuses the dancers minds on the musical elements. We see the dancers progress to include more technical and physically demanding movements which include stretches, jumps and turns. McOnie goes on to discuss how a wide range of techniques, knowledge and life experiences should be drawn on in order to produce original choreography. This clip was first created for the BBC Blast website. Please note this clip is only available in Flash.
