  • We follow a farmer as he loads up his cows and drives them to the local livestock market. Here they’re penned, tagged and sold in the auction ring and the farmer counts the money he makes. There are verbal and text prompts throughout and a 'flow diagram' at the end to help pupils write their 'explanation text' to describe what happens and why.

Ideas for use in class
  • To support the English Programme of Study: - Forms of writing, in particular, an explanation text. The same sequence can be used to support other writing genres, such as a chronological account, instructions, or a ‘day in the life of a cow’!
