New regime in Vietnam
In 1975 the government of South Vietnam collapsed completely under the pressure from its own unpopularity and attacks from North Vietnam and the Vietcong insurgents. According to this report, once the Communist North Vietnamese had taken control life in the city of Da Nang returned to normal fairly quickly. However, the new rulers were anxious to establish their rule. They began by changing the school curriculum away from any American influence. Soon afterwards they began to address the issue of prostitution and drug abuse which flourished while the US forces were in Vietnam. First broadcast in Midweek 29th April 1975.
