US Army official historian
The official historian of the US Army Major George Talbot is shown recording eye witness accounts of actions by USA forces in Vietnam. A colonel recounts an attack by North Vietnamese Army forces on an American air base. The action then shifts to the historian describing how the current conflict in Vietnam is a new type of warfare and that the USA's aims in this conflict are unlike more traditional war aims in that they are not trying to conquer territory but to force their enemies to top trying to take over South Vietnam. First broadcast in Panorama: Vietnam: The Other World 31st March 1969.
