BBC Learning supports people in acquiring the skills essential to life and work in the 21st century. These include literacy, numeracy, communication and computer skills.
Initially focusing on computer skills and money management, the new interactive, video-rich Raw website has expanded to include literacy and numeracy. All resources are designed to be directly accessible to people who struggle with reading and writing, and they are also relevant to tutors. The site continues to underpin Raw campaign activity, including money skills workshops and - from autumn 2009 - the My Story writing project.
The Skillswise site helps adults to build their confidence and develop their skills in reading, writing and maths. It also provides support for tutors.
Webwise is a long-established interactive online guide to computers and the internet. The site offers tips, advice and a 10-part internet beginners' course leading to an accredited qualification.
