Hi everyone,  I'm Tom from BBC Learning English London and I'm here to explain 'be used to'.
We use this expression to talk about things that are normal for us now.
For example, it's winter here in the UK. I've lived in the UK for quite a long time so this is not a problem for me.
So, I can say "I'm used to the cold weather".
If we want to use a verb phrase with the expression, we need to add 'ing'. For example, "I'm used to wearing warm clothes outside".
If something has not become normal, I can use 'not' to make the negative form.
For example "I am not used to wearing warm clothes in my office".

[to be] used to

We use ‘[to be] used to’ to show that something has become normal for us and is no longer unusual or strange.
ఏదైనా ఒక విషయం మనకి అలవాటైపోయింది లేదా సాధారణం అయిపోయింది అని చెప్పడానికి ‘[to be] used to’ ను ఉపయోగిస్తాం.

I have lived in Alaska for a long time, so I am used to the cold weather.

If we use a verb phrase with the expression, we need to use the ‘-ing’ form.
ఈ వ్యక్తీకరణతోపాటు క్రియాపదం వాడితే ‘-ing’ form వాడాలి.

Sometimes I have to work in the evenings, so I am used to drinking coffee late at night.

Negative form

To make the negative form, we add the word ‘not’ after [to be].
negative form లో రాయాలంటే [to be] తరువాత ‘not’ ను చేర్చాలి.

I recently moved to London from Spain, so I am not used to the cold weather here!
