Catherine Chapman

Team Leader

How long have you worked for BBC Learning English?

I've been with BBC Learning English for over ten years.

What did you do before you joined BBC Learning English?

I've had quite a few jobs, including jewellery maker and market trader! I became a full-time English teacher in 1996 and since then I've taught English in Turkey, Argentina and Dubai, as well as in the UK.

What's your earliest memory?

Being rushed to hospital aged two when my older sister 'helped' me to climb out of my cot and I fell and hit my head. Luckily there was no lasting damage.

Where's your favourite place, and why?

I have lots of happy memories of a lovely place on the Turkish coast, called Oludeniz. It's changed a lot over the years, but it's still quite magical.

Give us a quote from your school report...

Catherine has a very vivid imagination.
