History

School Radio offers a range of primary history audio resources and other resources for primary History.

The content is arranged in a variety of clip libraries that link to Key Stage 2 History topics including World War 2, Britain since the 1930s, the Tudors and the Victorians.

The content is a mix of audio clips and audio-visual clips that is available at any time.

  Tudors Audio Clips

  Age 7 +

  A collection of comic sketches, short dramas and music introduced by Barney Harwood, including guides to the reigns of Henry VIII and Elizabeth I and a range of other topics identified in the History curriculum at Key Stage 2.

  Victorians Audio Clips

  Age 7 +

  Short audio dramas featuring some of the key figures and events from the Victorian era - incuding Brunel, Mary Seacole and Dr Livingstone - and also the lives of ordinary people, including street children.

  Britain since the 1930s

  Age 9 +

  Audio-visual clips featuring archive recordings supporting study of the Key Stage 2 History topic Britain since the 1930s. The clips are grouped by theme and are ideal for playback on an IWB.

  World War 2 Audio Clips

  Age 9 +

  These World War 2 audio-visual clips include key speeches, eye-witness reports and some of the most evocative sounds of the War. There is an emphasis on the experiences of British children, including evacuation.
