About BBC Learning

Linking

External links to third party websites offer users of BBC Learning sites the chance to add breadth and depth to their online learning experience. Currently, BBC Learning only links out to a small selection of free websites. However, we would now like to expand the number of links to both free and subscription content.

Initially we will be running a six-month beta testing phase, linking to third party free and subscription websites from BBC Learning curriculum content (including Bitesize) within the new Knowledge and Learning Product.

Process

All organisations who wish to be considered for links from BBC Learning curriculum content (including Bitesize) will need to complete a Linking-Out Application Form and agree to the Linking-Out Terms and Conditions. All application forms will be assessed by the BBC Learning Policy and Public Affairs team and added to a database of links for use by the BBC Learning editorial teams.

Application forms will be accepted from May 2013. We intend for the first links from BBC Learning curriculum content (including Bitesize) to go live from autumn 2013. There will be interim reviews of the Linking-Out process during the beta testing phase with opportunities for external organisations to provide feedback.
