Bassekou Kouyate and singer Amy Sacko perform Falani, backstage at Later.
Reinventing the music of the ngoni, a West African lute, Bassekou continues to go from strength to strength. He won awards for Best African Act and Album Of The Year (for Segu Blue) at the BBC World Music Awards in 2008 and now returns with a new album in I Speak Fula. Bassekou's wife Amy Sacko provides lead vocals and kora player Toumani Diabate makes a guest appearance on the album.
