On the eighth leg of the worldwide competition our athletes are crossing the Indian Ocean to their next destination - the Indonesian island of Sumbawa.
After last week's brutal kick-fighting Ed and Wolé share the lead with two wins each.
Arriving in Pemlong village the boys are met with their most bonkers challenge yet, the utterly insane sport of water buffalo racing.
They'll have to take on the experts in a kind of animal-powered drag race, that the locals take very seriously.
Water buffalo racing
The aim is to drive your team across a paddy field, over a jump and towards a target of a sacred magical doll.
The jockeys race one after another in a time trial - fastest time wins but only if you hit the target.
With ground to make up Jarvis wants to get stuck in and amazingly after just a morning's primer trainer Jamek lets him take a heart-pumping ride through the paddy-field.
Ed's pentathlete skill with horses gives him confidence with the buffalo while Joey inadvertently picks two of the livelier beasts.
Murray gets a couple of nut-jobs and Wolé's feeling nervous around the wild animals until his two champions mark him out as the favourite.
As well as training, our boys take sole responsibility for their buffalo, feeding and bathing them every day. Something JJ and Jarvis take to heart but not Joey, whose short temper doesn't impress his tribe dad.
Between cuddling his buffalo and being covered in mud, JJ finds time to nurture an all-female fan club while Jarvis and Murray partake of the local tobacco.
Come race day the runners and riders receive a traditional blessing before travelling to the course on the other side of the island.
The target is much closer to the jump than in training and everyone finds it tough. They get just one run each and both Joey and favourite Wolé fail to hit the doll.
JJ's buffalo-bonding pays off as he's the first of the athletes to complete the course but Murray's loony pair don't fancy the Shaman's magic and slow to a halt mid-race.
Rugby star Jarvis is desperate for his first win. It looks like he's blown it after failing his run but the officials call a false start… The second time around though his frame breaks and he's out.
Ed's the final athlete on the course and with a calm pair of buffalo his luck could be in… but he's wide of the mark.
JJ is last man standing in Sumbawa.
Now it's a three-way tie for the lead between Ed, JJ and Wolé.The next challenge - Kushti mud-pit wrestling in India

Six intrepid athletes travel the world to compete against the most remote tribes on earth at their own sports.
Production Co-ordinator Chris O'Donnell takes us behind the scenes.
Sumbawa is located amongst 17,508 other islands which make up the Republic of Indonesia.
It is part of the world's largest archipelagic state and sits within the Pacific Ring of Fire, an area of frequent earthquakes and volcano activity.
In 1815, Mount Tambora, a violent volcano located on the island erupted and killed over 72,000 people. It is still classed as the most destructive eruption in modern history.

It's very funny watching Joey move closer to his nervous breakdown...roll on next week!

I much prefer the guys of this series than last. I only watched the last one for locations and tribal stuff (enjoyed watching them suffer a tiny weeny bit too). They loved themselves to the point of nausea, especially the one who won, eurgh! This lot on the other hand have some endearing traits and they're all different. Pity Wole had to play so dirty against Jarvis last week, I wouldn't be proud of that victory if I was him.

I've only seen as far as Wole's win in the Phillipines - I know he wanted to win last man standing, but I've not been impressed by the way he has pursued his goal - any means neccessary. There's no great honour in doing that. I think it would be better if the programme were called "Best Man Standing" and maybe that would encourage a better attitude towards the competition.

Joey's attitude stinks !! Makes great TV though, i used to know a guy just like that at school. classic quote in his biog page too
"What attracts you to your sport?
I have always loved soccer and the bond between team mates; It's like bringing two groups together to battle for 90 mins where only one walks away a winner and the other a loser..."
eh.. no Joey, quite often its a draw mate.. hahaha.. :)
I hope Ed or Jarvis win.
