Tough talking, wise cracking Joey is a soccer player with nutmegs to die for. But it wasn't always like this.
He grew up a bit of a brawler, before getting into college and turning his life around.
My sporting idols are the five guys I competed against - Ed, Jarvis, Murray, JJ and Wolé.
JOEY
Now coming into Last Man Standing at 24, he's hoping that living with remote tribes around the world will help him complete the picture... to find out just who he really is and what life is really about.
As for training, his regime is simple: lifting five days a week; abs and cardio every other day; oh yeah, and soccer three times a week.
He also claims to have a very strict diet, although on this trip around the world it became 'anything that was put in front of him' ... and he would have died for a candy bar.
We sent Joey a list of questions to dig a little deeper and find out what really makes him tick.
Here's what he had to say...
Describe your training regime:
I lift five days a week, abs and cardio every other day, along with soccer three times a week. My diet has gone back to being strict even though I would have died for a candy bar during the adventures!
Profession:
I'm working as a corporate marketer for health care.
Do you have pets?
I had a dog named Kobe, she was an Akita. She passed away this year shortly after the Brazil adventure, she was my best friend and baby girl.
Do you currently have a girlfriend(s)?
Ha! No girlfriend at the moment.
What's the one thing you can't live without?
I can't live without my friends and family, they're my world and have my heart.
What is your favourite sporting moment?
The night fight in Burkina Faso; the environment was unreal, the set-up and crowd was amazing, walking into the pit and relying just on yourself was an epic moment.
Who is your sporting idol?
My sports idols are the five guys I competed against; Ed, Jarvis, Murray, JJ and Wolé
What car do you drive?
I have two cars, one is my Mercedes sports car and the other is a brand new SUV.
If not competing in Last Man Standing you'd be...
Haha, I'd be living a NORMAL life! This was honestly the most intense year of my life from the travelling, to the living conditions to the extreme sporting competitions!
Favourite song/singer/group:
Right now I'm a big fan of Lil Wayne, thanks to Jarvis.
What has Last Man Standing meant to you?
It really opened my eyes to how big and amazing this world is. It also gave me the chance to really appreciate everything I have in my life and to stop taking the small things in life for granted; you don't know how important things are until they're taken away from you.
What other sports do you compete in?
Right now soccer and lifting are my main sports but I really love them all.
Greatest sporting achievement so far?
I think people rank sporting achievements by how far or how much they've won, but to me the game of life has been my greatest sporting acheivement.
You wouldn't expect it from me but I love/am obsessed with...
I'm a total mama's boy! She is my best friend and my world, I can tell her anything and she always has the best advice.
What was your highlight of Last Man Standing?
Everything! I have had a chance to see and do things people will only dream or read about. I have met people who have impacted my life and memory forever, I have worked with some amazing people and will walk away with a new found outlook on life that no other experience could have given me.
How did you train to prepare for Last Man Standing?
I worked my ass off in the gym and my diet and lifts were down to a science... but lo and behold - I found out you CAN'T train for something like this, you can't train for the unexpected and you can't prepare for the intense lifestyle and sports that came our way. The adventures we faced came down to mental grit, there's nothing you can do in the gym or at home to prepare for the insanity that came knocking at my door!
What do you do to pass the time on your travels round the world?
I spent a lot of my time listening to music and sleeping because we knew - wherever we were going, we weren't going to be sleeping much or comfortably. I would eat as much garbage food and chocolate as possible because when you're in the tribe there's nothing but local food!!
What's your favourite film/film star?
I'm a big fan of Denzel Washington and I love my girl Angelina Jolie. Right now my favourite movie would have to be Troy or 300.
What attracts you to your sport?
I have always loved soccer and the bond between team mates; It's like bringing two groups together to battle for 90 mins where only one walks away a winner and the other a loser...
What do you do in your spare time?
I love going to the gym and hanging out with 'da boys'. I really have the best group of friends life could offer.
Do you have any secret talents?
I have no secret talents but I have lots of secrets and talents... ha!
Where did you grow up?
I grew up in a home of three wild boys and two really cool parents.
What qualities do you most value in your friends?
I'm big on trust and respect, and my group of friends are second to none, they're the best.
What natural gift would you most like to possess?
I want to be able to fly... I know it's not natural but I want it.
Who has been the biggest influence in your life?
All the people who doubted me and said I couldn't or wouldn't, now I never look back and am always moving forward.
Which superhero are you most like?
The Hulk because I don't wear tights or spandex and sometimes when I lose my temper I turn green.
Who is your ideal woman?
Haha - Katie Price... she is one of 'em, but I don't have an exact mould or picture of my ideal woman and I don't think it's good to have one because you might miss someone really special.
Who is your role model?
I don't have a role model; I don't want to be anyone else or anywhere else. I have a loving family and amazing friends and at the end of the day that's all that matters to me.
What's next?
Well I'm back to work and still trying to create the next big invention that will help me become the backbone of my family and rich enough to take care of everyone in my life.
Favourite quote?
"It's who we are, it's what we do." "Are you not entertained?!" "Why work for the man, when I am the man."
