Spilled soup

I've always loved this one: Del plato a la boca, se cae la sopa, literally 'from the plate to the mouth the soup sometimes spills'. There are English equivalents such as 'there's many a slip 'twixt cup and lip' or 'don't count your chickens before they're hatched'.
