How can he go to the loo?!

Again, whilst working as an English assistant in the Pyrenees, I was chatting to a teacher about my pet Springer Spaniel and trying to explain that he'd had his tail docked as a puppy. Obviously, I didn't know how to say this, so tried to simplify it to Mon chien n'a pas de queue ("My dog has no tail"). Unfortunately, I mispronounced the word queue so that it came out as cul ("bum"). You can imagine the bewildered look on the teacher's face! In the end I had to write it down so that he understood.
