I'm a reporter and presenter and have worked in television for a good few years. I speak a bit of German, and now some Spanish, and have used my languages in some of my many careers - teacher, actor, footballer, you name it, I've done it!
I have always loved Spain - the sounds of the language, the people, the way of life - and learning Spanish has been a great way for me to get to know a bit more about the country in a more enjoyable way.
I'm a real sports fan, and having played football semi-professionally in a previous life it was a real relief to be able to go to Spain and strike up a conversation with the locals on the latest games, and on the British signings making the headlines in the Spanish league.
As a reporter, I travel to many countries throughout Europe, so it's important for me to be able to communicate with the people I meet on a daily basis. Whether we're talking about food, holidays, or sport, it has really improved my confidence to be able to get my message across - a few mistakes never hurt anyone, and believe me, I've made a few while learning Spanish!
I'd love to live in Spain one day, and I've passed my love of the language on to my kids, who are also learning Spanish.
