Finding Accommodation
Spain is attracting more and more second home-buyers in Britain, attracted by the good weather and the comparatively cheaper property prices. The Spanish, like the British, prefer to own a property than rent. They detest commuting and, when possible, rent small apartments in the towns where they work. There are plenty of bargains around. It's just a matter of deciding what's best for you
Before leaving:
- Decide if you would like to find a property for rent, de alquiler, or for sale, en venta.
- Possibly approach an international relocation/estate agent like Relocations España, Europroperty, or Sales and Lettings
- Photocopy your passport a few times, multiple copies may be required by landlord
Once you get there:
- Have a look at the property section, la sección de vivienda or de inmobiliaria, in newspapers like El Baúl, specialised in small ads, or the daily ABC.
- Consider approaching a local estate agency, una inmobiliaria, to see what's on offer.
