Key Language io, tu, lei ...

Since the ending of the verb is enough to tell us who is doing something, "I, you, she, he, we, they" are used in Italian far less often than in English.

When they are used, it tends to be for emphasis or contrast.

- Io gioco a golf perché lo trovo rilassante.
- E io lo trovo divertente.
- I play golf because I find it relaxing.
- And I find it fun.
