Getting there
Finding a job

All EU nationals have the right to look for work in Italy. There are growing opportunities in all industries especially in tourism, commerce and catering. Advanced technology is gradually making its presence known.

Before leaving:

Once you get there:

  • If you have work, you must take a temporary resident's permit, una Ricevuta di Segnalazione di Soggiorno, to the police station, la questura, and apply for a Worker's Registration Card, un Libretto di Lavoro.
  • Keep an eye on the job section, Lavoro, of major Italian newspapers like Corriere della Sera, La Repubblica, Il Sole/24 Ore and Italia Oggi.
  • Also, consider speaking to an advisor at the local employment agency, l'Ufficio de Collocamento Manodopera, but remember that not everybody will speak English.
