Getting there
Name:    Fergal Kavanagh
Age:    30
Town of origin:    City of Cork, Ireland
Residence in Italy:    Naples
Date of Arrival:    February 1996
Occupation:    Radio DJ
Making the Move
After graduating in Computer Studies and Maths, Fergal spent six months travelling around Europe. He was offered a job in Naples with a British publisher where he worked full-time for four years.

He got tired of all the travelling he had to do for work so he changed to working part-time. He then got a job teaching English at the British Council and also started working for a local radio station.

Preparation
Fergal got himself an E111 for his medical insurance and made sure he had enough money to last him a couple of months. He also organised to stay with a friend for the first few weeks

Ambitions
Fergal hopes to continue working in radio for the next few years - he doesn't mind where!

Any Advice...?
"If you're going alone, try and arrange work and accommodation before you leave. Go with the intention of enjoying yourself and don't expect people to be the same as back at home. If you're planning to stay, adapt to their life-style."
