When you want to say that you are in pain, you state the part of the body followed by the phrase tut mir weh, which literally means does hurt me:

Mein Fuß tut mir weh. My foot hurts.
Mein Kopf tut mir weh. My head hurts.

With plural parts of the body, such as legs, eyes, etc, you use tun mir weh:

Meine Füße tun mir weh. My feet hurt.
Meine Beine tun mir weh. My legs hurt.

If you want to say you have a pain or an ache somewhere, you add -schmerzen to a part of the body:

Ich habe Halsschmerzen. I've got a sore throat.
Ich habe Kopfschmerzen. I've got a headache.

Now click on 'start the activity' and drag the words into the bar below to build expressions to say what hurts.
