There are several ways to say what you like and dislike in German. ich mag You can use ich mag followed by a noun:
To say what you don't like, add nicht at the end of the sentence.
es gefällt mir This literally means it pleases me. In this case, the noun comes first:
To make the sentence negative, add nicht at the end of the sentence:
gern To say what you like to do you use gern. This always follows the verb.
To say what you don't like doing, you use nicht gern.
