This week, see if you can manage the first two steps of the course: Taking a taxi and Asking for directions. In these units you'll learn the basic greetings and some key words such as rue, street, and tout droit, straight ahead.

French pronunciation may seem daunting to the new learner so it's worth going over the slideshow a few times. The Pronunciation Tips will give you the basics and the key words will help you get used to the sound of individual French words. Do take every opportunity to repeat what you hear. The computer won't laugh!

Partner learning tip:
A good way to keep yourself motivated throughout the next 12 weeks until the end of the course is to work together with a partner. You can try out the new words and phrases together and celebrate those moments of learning success together eg. in a nice French restaurant.
Simply click here to forward this page to your chosen learning partner who you know wants to learn French too.

And this is our first tip for you both: After having done this week's two units simply write down all French words you can remember in an e-mail, without looking at the website. Send the e-mail to your learning Partner and then compare the results.
