Pronouncing '-eu'

The -eu sound is pronounced rather like the e of the French le or de, but is more emphatic.

deux peu je veux tu peux jeune

Be careful - unlike the numbers deux, six and dix, the x at the end of peux and veux is rarely pronounced even when followed by a vowel:

Je veux acheter du vin.               I want to buy some wine. Tu peux arriver à six heures ?    Can you arrive at six?
