How to make offers and invitations


Tu veux prendre un apéritif chez moi ?
Tu veux prendre un peu de vin ?


  • When offering or inviting, you can say Tu veux...? 'Do you want...?' if you're using the tu form, or Vous voulez...? if you're using the vous form.


  • As with all questions, you can swap the order round to ask Veux-tu...? or Voulez-vous...?


  • To reply you can accept the offer by saying D'accord, 'OK', Avec plaisir, 'With pleasure'. To decline an offer you can say Désolé, 'I'm sorry', adding Je ne peux pas... 'I can't...'.
