Already know some French? Then try the Fast Track - a quick journey through French Steps, and a way to check how much you know.

The Fast Track is based on the challenge units that appear at the end of each stage of French Steps. You can use the challenges to revise and reinforce the key language covered in each stage, but if you have some knowledge of French they offer a quicker alternative route through the course.

Try them here, or go to French Steps to see the index of the whole course.

Stage 1: Short break in Paris
Make your way to one of the major sites in Paris, with just a few words.

Stage 2: Chatting
Meet your friends for a drink and get into conversation with the locals.

Stage 3: Food and drink
Put your French to the test by taking two friends out for a meal in Lyon.

Stage 4: Country holiday
You're about to set off on holiday to the mountains. Find your bearings and
organise an activity while you're there.

Stage 5: Planning your time
You're off to visit a friend. Make your way from Paris to Lyon and find a hotel
for a couple of nights.

Stage 6: Emergencies!
The car breaks down and you're feeling unwell. Use your language skills to
cope with this mini crisis.

Try the Fast Track Challenge
Once you've completed each Fast Track challenge, have a go at solving the final challenge.

Follow the instructions at the end of each challenge to collect 6 words. When you've collected all 6 words, put them in the correct order to form a sentence.
