	Latvian is the official language of Latvia. Home speakers live in Lithuania, Estonia, Sweden, Russia, Ukraine and Belarus.

	Latvian divides into 3 main dialects, Central, High Latvian and Tamian. The standard language is based on the Central dialect. Its geographical position means foreign influences have been few.
