Jehan Ali is an Imam, a religious leader of the mosque on Brougham Street in Stoneyholme, Burnley. And Father Peter Hapgood Strickland is vicar of St Andrews Parish in Burnley. Here they tell us why they wanted to get involved and what they hope the outcome might be.

Imam Jehan Ali says
I am really looking forward to the job swop, it'll be a new experience for me in terms of experiencing first hand what its like to be a priest. I do feel a little nervous. In terms of what we can achieve in the future from this experience, this can only help to strengthen links already established from the "Building Bridges" project which came about after the Task Force was established in 2001. This is another step towards breaking down barriers between the Asian and white community in the town, or the Muslim and Christian faiths.

And Father Peter Hapgood Strickland says
I'm looking forward to this job swop with the Imam very much indeed, its something that fills me with hope that we can learn a great deal from each other. When I was in Blackburn I was privileged to work very closely with a Roman Catholic priest, and for seven years he called me his curate, ok this was only for a day. It meant I learned an awful lot about the Roman Catholic church. The roman Catholics and Anglicans in our area of Blackburn became very much friends. I hope we can work together and establish a greater concept of friendship between the two faith communities in this part of Burnley.
