1Digital Storytelling...   Make this my Homepage
Tested & Approved by Maureen Ashton

Tested & Approved. By Maureen Ashton.

Please tell us about yourself.

I live in Burscough, near Ormskirk.

My husband Peter, a retired police officer, died of cancer in February 1998.

I retired from my own position with the Lancashire Constabulary, an administration officer, in March 1998.

What is your story about?

My story is about some aspects of my career with the Police and of my friendship with Anne, who I first met in 1963.

We retired at the same time.

Why did you choose to tell this particular story?

In these busy technological times in the work place, on reflection, it seemed a good idea to let others know of the humour, hard work, comradeship and team spirit that existed during my career.

What was the experience of making your digital story like?

I did admit at the outset that my knowledge of I.T. was minimal, but with lots of help from the digital storytelling team it was a very enjoyable experience.

It made me realise how much hard work is involved in making even a short film.

I would recommend anyone to give it a try - everyone has a story to tell!
