Coffee by Ruth Soult

Coffee. By Ruth Soult.

Please tell us about yourself.

I moved with my family to Skelmersdale, from Canada, in 1994. I live and work in Skelmerdsdale.

I work for the local advocacy organisation, which is a perfect place for me to be as advocacy focuses on rights, equality and inclusion - all of which I am passionately committed to.

What is your story about?

My story is about coffee, and how the simple act of having coffee can be so meaningful for many people.

Coffee isn't always coffee!

Why did you choose to tell this particular story?

Because coffee is so simple, yet so complex.

The support that people get over coffee can have a huge impact on people's lives. I think the simple act of having coffee can be a life changing event.

What was the experience of making your digital story like?

I have had a great time making this story. I have been able to learn new things and have time to practise new skills.

The BBC team have been very helpful and very supportive and have helped to make the experience fantastic.
