Priestley by Pat Holmes
tell us about yourself:
Family history has been my hobby for the last 20 years. Im also
interested in archaeology and history; I like to learn about the regions
where some of my family members originated.
I am sixty-three-years-old.
I was a nursery nurse for 17 years, then in 1975-1978 I went to college
and qualified as a teacher with a B.Ed degree then working for twelve
years and retired at fifty.
husband died I went back to teaching for another five years. I finally
retired and Im now able to pursue my interests. I enjoy every day.
I love going to the theatre, reading, swimming, being with my grandsons,
going on holiday. All, rather like my grandmother!
your story about?
Its a potted history of my paternal grandmother. Not easy to present
in just two minutes. I tried to get the essence of her personality without
too many boring dates.
you choose to tell this particular story?
Apart from brief knowledge of her parents, (my great grandfather died
when I was three-years-old, and my great-grandmother when I was nine-years-old).
I was lucky enough to know my grandmother until I was twenty-years-old.
She is part
of the living memory of my childhood whereas my other antecedents are
just names and dates on my family tree.
the experience of making your digital story like?
A very interesting experience. Glad I did it, it decreased my awe of computers.
I think I now know when not to click too much on the mouse.
