Peas in a Pod by Leigh Humpage

Please tell us about yourself.
My name is Leigh Humpage and I live in Carnforth, N Lancs. I work as a social worker with elderly people, and as a 'First Responder' at weekends.

I am a lone parent, with a nine-year-old daughter Elizabeth.

I come from East London originally, and moved to Lancashire eleven years ago.

What is your story about?
My story is about being an identical twin. It’s a light-hearted look at how it feels to be a twin, and people’s perceptions of twins.

Why did you choose to tell this particular story?
It’s been with me all my life. People have interesting ideas and myths about twins.

I thought it would be fun to tell people a bit about growing up as a twin, and how twins have to work a little bit harder on developing their own identity and individuality.

Sometimes you get fed up being treated as half of something instead of a whole person.

What was the experience of making your digital story like?
Great fun. Never done anything like it before. Lots of help on hand with the technology. Very creative. Nice people. Nice food.

Felt like you’d achieved something special, both for yourself and others.
