A Calendar Inspired by Gardens by Jacky Dearing

Please tell us about yourself:
I am retired owing to a medical condition, acquiring new knowledge gives me a better quality of life.

What is your story about?
Two years ago I took snapshots of peoples' gardens when our local parish church organised a garden safari. My resulting photographs were made into a calendar which raised lots of money for the church.

Why did you choose to tell this particular story?
It was such an experience finding out about how to do everything and how proud I had been at the success of it all. My self-esteem was raised considerably and I felt it was a bit of encouragement to others who might be in similar straits.

What was the experience of making your digital story like?
Really good. I felt really comfortable with the whole process and it's a great feeling seeing it all on film.
