Whiplash
stars two animal fugitives, Spanx and Redmond, who find themselves
chained together as they attempt to escape from an animal product-testing
corporation. Richard the reviewer gave it the once over...
What kind of game is it?
Animated
platform toon-fest.
How
many players?
1 player. Billy no mates style.
What's
the gist?
Thrash your handcuffed buddy Redmond in every direction to chain-whip
attackers, swing tarzan-like over hazards, or to helicopter to areas
unreachable by foot in your attempt to flee the high-security animal
testing lab.
What
do you think about the graphics?
Bit wobbly on the old close-ups.
What
do you think about the sound?
I think the FX guys must have bought some new switches and pedals.
Too much echo and reverb.
Is
it original?
Well I don't know of many games where you're a psychopathic weasel
that uses a rabid bunny as a weapon because you're handcuffed together...
Did
you want to play it all day or boot it through the window?
You could definitely play it for a while. Or until the madness starts
having a effect on your mind.
What
age range d'you reckon would like this game?
Well it's aimed at kids, but some of the combo moves are a bit tricky
which could frustrate 'em.
Best
bit?
Slam dunking the security guards. Hah! Take that fat boys!
Worst
bit?
Getting from challenge to challenge is not always linear.
Is
it worth the money?
Aren't all PS2 games?
Marks
out of ten?
Seven. It's not Ratchet, but it is clever.
Can
we have it back now please?
No, clear off.
